This may be reduntant, but you cleaned the AIC but did you test it per Bentley? There are some easy tests with a multimeter. The easiest test I've found is by SAAB, but requires a friend with the same LH system (2.4 for you i think). Take your AIC out, start their car, unplug their AIC wire harness and plug it into yours. Supposedly it should buzz in your hand and you should see the motor/valve move.
