RS,
I went back out and cleaned and dried the outer race of the roller bearing. That hazing I mentioned before definitely is pitting. It is *very fine* for most of the circumference, but over about 120* there is a band in the center of the race where spherical pits are discernable with the naked eye.
I *really* don't want to change these bearings out now, but even more, i don't want to have to do this all over again in 20K miles. What is the determiner of whether they are good for another run?
Cheers/Don
