I had the same problems with mine, then I read Monster's saga. Count it up, who broke more tools or parts removing it?

My original story:

Monster's #1:
http://www.saabnet.com/tsn/bb/900/index.html?bID=106478
Monster's #2:

My local indy said that the thing comes free easily when it's warm. I guess warm up the car, then attack it from beneath.

Or remove the elbow (mine came off pretty easily, you may not have the same luck) and beat the crap out of the sensor. I used pipes, drills, vice grips.

I have a little jar in the garage with the remnants of that sensor. I also have the oil drain plug that required a pipe wrench in the same jar. Randy 2, Saab 0.

Good luck!!!

Randy

BTW, it was 57 in Cleveland today. I got the emissions check done on the new ragtop, then got the plates. By that time it was sunny and warm so I took the top down!!! What a wonderful day for a "new to me" convertible.

As I was pulling out of a grocery store the idle went nuts (below 900, up to 1500, back down, etc.) It quit after a few seconds. Luckily I've been through that with the SPG, and I can swap AIC and AMM if I have to. I probably have enough silicone hose left from the SPG to run when I check for any vacuum leaks. I didn't do the windshield washer fluid lines on the SPG...
