It's been awhile since I did mine...it hasn't leaked since.
But a couple of things....gasket put on dry only. No sealer. Dry surfaces on both sides.
Use a 3/8" drive torque wrench calibrated in inch lbs. ft lbs is too coarse, minimum torque is prob around 25ft lbs on a 250 ft-lb wrench...and even then it can range from 10-50 ft lbs!
I also use loctite medium (blue) anerobic adhesive on the bolts...once torqued they don't come loose. Although there is a good argument that using the loctite lubricates the thread and therefore I ought to use 50% less torque on the capscrew. However, I used the book torque value and, even if too tight, clamping force-wise, it hasn't leaked or loosened in 4-5 years.
