based on several replies.
Technically, Val-syn is a poly-glycol based dot 5.1 fluid, fully mixable with dot 3 and 4, also poly glycol.
Many dot 4's are available with higher wet boiling points, but are not dot 5.1 rated because they don't have the very low cold viscosity that dot 5 and dot 5.1 must also have: dry/wet BP's:
Motul600 DOT4 ... 585/421
ATE blue DOT4 ... 536/392
Valsyn DOT5.1 ... 502/343
CastrLMA DOT4 ... 450/311
So the dot 5.1 must have a much higher viscosity index than 3 and 4, and this diff may be related to some internal leakage at clutch-mc back to reservoir.
Suggest switch to Castrol LMA (low moisture absorbtion)
