I did some research and found ENVIRO-SAFE to be the best soluting for what I wanted to do. It is basically like 134a but with some advantages.
1. Less harmful to enviroment
2. Much much less harmful to humans :-) This is a big plus
3. ENVIRO-SAFE does not become caustic if moisture is present - no vaccume nessary
4. price is about the same
5. less Hp required on car and so equipment will last longer
6. direct drop-in R-134a replacement - great for current 134a users
7. no potintial corrosion - contrary to 134a
Well I looked at what my car had - Freeze 12 -empty (freeze 12 is combo of 134 and r12) i figured I would just put on envirosafe without replacing anything. The oil is compatable with both r12 and 134a lubercant. - I did the reshurch and found this is safe and will not harm my system
Final cost $70 - included all the cool gauges and some fittings for my car
If you have R12 pull the freeon and put in envirosafe.
If you have 134a and it needs recharged put in envirosafe on top of 134a
Well there is my two cents
Have a look at these web site where I got all my facts
I purchased from here - best deal on the product
