That sounds like my post. This hydro lock fear is only justified when the first start in the morning is rough. The very first 30 seconds as the coolant burns off. The theory has it, that if the coolant leak into the cylinder gets bad enough, the uncompressable coolant blows the cylinder, piston, connecting rod, the whole works.
If you are not loosing any coolant, don't worry. It sounds to me like you have tune up housekeeping issues. Vacuum leaks, spark plug gap too wide, bad dist rotor, plug wires, funky tempsensor (under intake runners).
When your headgasket goes, you will notice coolant loss, and possibly coolant in oil, oil in coolant, air bubbles in expansion tank from small radiator return hose. why not do a compression check and cooling system pressure test to put your mind at ease.
