Good comments. The last time I was at Andrew's they did the invoice breakdown per repair job (I usually only took my cars there if I had a bunch to do) with the part cost and a labor cost, but no itemization of the labor. Who knows.

I'm back to Jerry. He's a bit less convenient and kind of cavelier (I care way too much about my Saab) when it comes to repairs, but he knows what he's talking about most of the time. I just get worried with him when he refused to look at or do anything different then the way he's always done it. I like to pick his brain too.

I had a clutch done a while ago (before I learned how to do them...I should have waited) by Foreign Affairs in Roseville. They were nice but cost only $2 less per hour than the dealer! They padded their bill by saying they had trouble bleeding the clutch after the repair "had to pressure and pedal bleed it". Big deal! I shouldn't have to pay for their ineptitude - I always pressure (Mityvac) and pedal bleed and it's never taken me over 15 minutes.

Alas. I'm one of those people where it's only done right if I do it myself...and break it first...and then fix it.
