Justin - you should have been with me on Saturday when I cased the local (Los Angeles) yards in search of a donor car. One yard had two 99's! I'd never seen one up close in person. I was impressed. That was a sporty Euro sedan! I'm guessing very appreciated in select circles. Also, while scouting out there I actually met someone who knows you and did business with you. He sold you an SPG some time back. Don't recall his name. A caramel colored guy. He was actually working on an Audi next to the 86 SPG donor car.
Now, regarding the vented rotor swap - you mentioned not having to mess with the axle nuts, but removing the inner circlip instead. To me that seems far messier that simply pulling the knuckle from the axle proper. Just to get to the circlip means pulling back the CV boot and digging past all that grease. Also, that method assumes I'm able to easily access the circlip from below (like with a lift), which is not an option at either the scrap yard or my home shop.
