Any piece of wire is fine to jump fuse 27 to 30. if you hear the pump buzzing, just don't run the pump for more than a few seconds because the wire will get warm and you know the pump is OK as soon as it hums.
To check for spark, pull the center wire out of the distributor and hold it near any ground to observe spark while a helper cranks the engine. Hold wire with well-insulated pliers and wear some rubber gloves. I would not expect spark, if your tach needle is really motionless. I have a hunch your crank sensor is bad, which will provide the bonus opportunity to replace the harmonic balancer, crank seal, and oil pump seals. Continue to read Bentley and you'll track the problem down.
