Glad you got your buggy rumblin' like you want it. I have a 12" Xplode powered by a single 300 watt amp mounted on my rear deck, betwixt two 10" Polk powered by the 500x4 head amp. It's essentially the infinite baffle design, with no box around it other than the trunk. What I did do is reinforce the entire (bottom) deck with a firm press board and resin fiberglass along the edges for stiffening. The firming of the base on which the speakers sit seems to work really well in terms of assisting bass efficiency. Much better than expected. I initially planned to build a box beneath the deck, but it sounds quite good as is. The amp which powers it doesn't need to be turned up all that much for the speaker to be felt.
