That lifting motion under torque misaligns your shift linkage and clutch. There is some tollerance, but big eng lifts mean you will find it difficult to shift, and because we all have to shift- we tend to slam it home and the Saab linkage and trany are just not made for it (clutch also).
On the down motion- it just can't be good, but nothing specifically gets "hit." It's the motion in general that will be a PIA for a while and just wear out parts before their time. Or in entreme cases- your AC will dent your hood (both front and right out).
Many drive for years not even knowing the front is out, but it's the 'hard,' high RPM shifters that notice 1st! They are trying to shift before the engine returns to a 'normal' alignment. Clunk, clunk.
Look to do more work in that area if you have a bad mount (rad, clutch, fans). I've had better luck with solid poly MM, than hyd., but not perfect.
