how far did you drive with it as is? only thing you can really do is have it towed back to them for repair and make them do it for nothing. mechanic should have had enough sense to check the fluid levels before you drove it off and at a minimum they should have test drove it. that way it is documented that they screwed it up the first time and fixed it. then if it falls to crap you have a little recourse.
you could have toasted the tranny if it was slipping the entire time. did you have to really rev it up to get it going???? excessive oil will blow seals & gaskets if left that way too long. if the tranny is trashed you are looking at minimum 1500 bucks for one. could be up to 2500.00.
make them pay the tab or buy the car! they do have insurance to cover this type of thing so don't take no for an answer.
