Having a little problem with my daughters 900S. A Pennsylvania car not used to heat, she followed me down to Jacksonville for a vacation. She is staying on for a 5 month internship in Fla. I was going to sell the car but she likes it so I spent $2000 (!) to replace her head gasket, CV boots, convert the AC and rebuild an axle. Just south of DC after about an hour of stop and go (mostly stop) traffic in 100 degree heat, her bypass hose (the one from the stat to the heater) blew. A couple of hours later after some local guy in VA rigged up a hose to fit, we made it to Jax. The temp gage was running a little over 3/4 and sometimes higher but we made it. When I got the chance to diagnose the problem, I found that the fuse had blown for the A/C fan. I think I found the culprit...a loose connector on the wire on top of the compressor. The fans are running now and I replaced the rigged hose with OE and also replaced the thermostat with an 82c stat from Saab. The gage is still high (but not over heating)..perhaps 7/8 at times but the fans kick on and it cools down a little. Also, the AC is now not working...looks like the 134 leaked out! Don't know if that is related in anyway. I do not want to leave my daughter here with this car in this condition. Any clues? Radiator? Bad head gasket job? Temp sensors? This gage should be about mid way correct. Any help appreciated.
