I had drank a few beers last night when all of a sudden we lost power in the whole house, along with the neighbors. So I decided I would drive a few blocks and see what was going on. So, I drove about 10 blocks around town and then decided to head back to the house. All the stoplights and streetlights were out so I was driving very slow. A block from my house there is an intesection with a four way stoplight (which was not working). I was traveling on the main street which is 8th avenue, and cam up the interesection at about 20mph, I knew that the cross street always stops and 8th ave is a yield, from 12:30 AM to 6:00AM the lights flash yellow on 8th and red on the cross street (Dst), so I just looked around but didn't stop. 8th is a four lane street and there was a car in the left lane (i was in the right) turning left onto Dst. Just as I reached the middle of the intersection I was hit hard on the drivers side door by a minivan. The saab spun 180degrees and then stopped facing the opposite direction. A police officer was driving almost direclty behind me so as soon as I climbed across the seat to get out he was there. He smelled alchohol on my breath and made me take the walking test as soon as i was out of the car. BUT my glasses had been knocked off my face and I think I had a minor concussion while he tested me. So, I was handcuffed and booked. He said it was a no fault accident because there were no stop lights but the woman in the minivan HAD to be going very fast to spin me 180 and push the whole side of the saab in. So, i pleaded NOTGUILTY in the hearing and am waiting to talk to my court appointed lawer.

Anyways, the minivan (a newer Honda) was totally inoperable, blew the radiator and the front tires but I was able to drive my saab home from impound, 10 miles and nothing was wrong except the whole left side of the car and a left rear flat.

the car saved me from injury I'm sure of it.

I just am wondering if I have a case here, My BAC was .11.

Thanks for reading all of you

Peter

PS I miss my Saab and am looking for an spg that has a bad tranny.

thanks
