Rebuilt brake calipers and handbrake

Hello, I have an '85 Turbo with solid rotors and the handbrake up front like normal. Anyway, when I bought the car the one caliper piston was craked and the other was completely seized. So I swallowed hard and bought rebuilt calipers. Got good price but anyway, it was from quite a reputable source, Internation Autoparts, the one based in Syracuse. Anyway I installed them about week ago and the brake pedal feels great. I bleed torqued them, bleed them, etc. The hitch is that the handbrake is really bad. What I mean by that is that is' REALLY weak. I had to adjust the handbrake cable in the car quite far to get it to hold the car on a mild slope. It's not very safe and I have to get it inspected. Also the appropriate hand brake lever gap is way off, it's supposed to be .5mm I think, mine is more like 2-3! I don't think there is any handbrake drag but I've barely driven it because the oil cooler is leaking badly (whole other issue but it's under control, got a good old one).
SOOOOO, question is: Has anyone experienced this? If so how did you fix it? OTherwise does anyone have any suggestions? Should I call the shop I bought them up? I'm totally open to ideas because I don't like how weak it is. Thanks in advance, hehe long post don't think I missed anything but if I did let me know.
