Also might want to check your belt tension and battery condition. Starting puts a load on the battery that must be recovered from. If the battery's not quite up to snuff and your alternator belt is not quite tight enough or has any kind of oils on it you could have a problem like you described (it's happened to me before). Don't assume that a battery that's less than 2 years old has to be good-- sometimes they're no good right away!
I would first try checking the battery voltage after the car's been sitting overnight.
