if poss. What you need are new speakers and a separate amp that has 4 or even 6 channels. The separate channels will give you better definition. The stock Classic Saab speakers are paper cone which is cheap. You also get better sound reproduction from circular speakers as opposed to oval speakers like in the back of your car. Also if you keep a front soundstage and don't have speakers in the back you will have better stereo imaging. Some people do rear fill but this seems like a waist of money. When your just doing stereo sound and you have sound coming from the front and behind this hurts your stereo imaging. This is because two speakers in front and in back would be good for surround sound since that is 4.1,5.1 or greater channels. Stereo is only two channels so for the best poss sound you want the imaging comming from two general locations. When you go to a concert you dont have speakers in the front and behind you unless it's a surround sound concert(more than two separate channels). For a concert in stereo the sound is coming from the front so you get the good imaging. The low base from a sub can be just about anywhere as it seems to be all over and is just one channel without imaging. Some don't mind the stereo imaging coming from the front and back but it isn't as good imaging as two main locations.

Sorry for the rambling. I would suggest: upgrade your speaker and get a sub, Get atleast a 5 channel amp. Five separate channel will be really clear and powerful. This would mean that you wouldn't use your deck amp anymore as your new amp will be much better. I don't know if your current deck has the correct hook ups for your amp but check it out.

I went overboard on my system but it sounds incredible as I really love music. It consists of a Fosgate 650 watt 360.6 powering 4.25" MB Quarts in dash stoch position for highs, the entire magazine pockets in the doors have been sealed with plywood and sound vibration tape to make an air pocket for MB Quart 8" for mid range and a 12" JL Audio sealed box sub as I don't like the distorted bass and the harder hitting bass I wanted. A 9 volt Audio Control preamp allows equalization and a little more punch. I don't have any rear fill as I felt this was a waist of money. I have used the speakers heavily and loudly without damaging them. I'm continually impresseed by the sound.

If you want to keep it really cheap get a deak with a really good amp and a sub with upgraded speakers. The separate amp will cost more but you will be amazed by the sound.

Best, KB.
