Thanks for the rotor! Posted by Randy Thatcher [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Update: Randy vs. busted brake bleeder nipples., patprice, Sun, 22 Sep 2002 22:58:49 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I put it on last night. I did it after the sucessful 2 bleeders and before trying more on the 3rd. I needed another little victory in the garage, and the rotor is a sure thing.
You can have the caliper and try ripping out the remains of the bleeder. I'm pretty sure it can be salvaged, but I look at it as $60 in drill bits and aggravation vs. $60 for a part from eEuroparts! I've put in enough time with the damn thing.
I'll give you that other rotor and the caliper (if you want it) when I'm done this week. I'll be at a Toyota plant and a Campbell-Hausfeld plant mid week. I hope I can have the car on the road by next Saturday.
Bonus thing about getting into this DIY SAAB work... A guy at my wife's job drives a 83 or 84 900T 8Valve. I think he got it in San Diego and it's a pretty good looking car. I guess he had something simple done at a certain SAAB/Volvo service facility in Cleveland heights for $320, so he asks my wife to ask me if $320 is a ripoff. My wife forgets what it was that was done... Long story short, he *may* want to unload this car on me as he's fed up with the service there. My wife knew that whatever it was, it was dirt simple and I could have done it. But she doesn't want SAAB #4 littering our driveway.
