Some interesting advice I've seen.

A 10" single is going to be relatively dinky as it is, you're not going to really have to worry about having bass over-power everything else, especially with the tweeters.

I would match at RMS or over, as far as powering the sub. You could get away with underpowering, just don't do it significantly. Listen for distortion and don't crank it too high, you don't want to blow the sub. I would turn the gain down all the way on the amp.

I take it you've figured out what bridging is by now. To run an amp in 2ohms you run parallel, which is running two channels to one speaker, essentially. If you need clarification, I'll try to do better. Make sure your amp handles 2ohms, bonus if the sub does so you don't heat it up more than you should.

My stereo:

* Blaupunkt 4" 3-way coaxials (front channel) -- 4" suck, but you can get away with it.
* Blaupunkt 6x9" 3-way coaxials (rear channel, adapters) -- 4x10s suck.
* Blaupunkt Casablanca CD51 powering the sats (had an amp die on me, I'll remedy that eventually)
* Two 12" Blaupunkt sub-woofers in a separated, sealed box with 1.5 cubic foot airspace
* Kicker amp running at 4ohms to the subs at 130RMS on each sub, could run at 2ohm but don't want that much bump without the sats powered better.

I'll evenentually throw in kick panels and some components. But for the moment, it sounds great as it is.

It can bump, and it sounds damn good too. The bass is not over-powering the highs and mids. Just finished it recently.

Regards,

White Vampire\Rem
