Ah yes... the Bentley would have you believe it's possible...simple even. Many folks around here will give you valuable advice, encouragement. You will appreciate their good intentions, and make yourself believe that you too can tackle this job.

This is the evil void of destructive temptation that the alternator tempts you into. RAHHAHAHAHAHAH!! Once you begin the job, your pride, and your belief that you can indeed do it (after all, Saabnet told you that you could), will drive you into a miserable pit of weekend horror, where you will struggle against the mighty wrath of the Saab gods.

If you rely on your car for transportation to work/school, wherever you need to be...I wouldn't even think about it. Pay a pro and save yourself the torture. The sense of pride you get when you finally do accomplish the task is not even close to worth it.

On the other hand, if you don't absolutely need this car (i.e. you can get a ride with someone else or take another car), and you enjoy a healthy challenge, along with inflicting unneccesary pain and suffering upon yourself, have at it. Make sure you have the right tools, read my post (and others' from the past). Preferably do it when your wife/girlfriend/significant other is out of town, and like others said, do the other inevitable repairs (water pump, voltage regulator) whilst you're in there. You will definitely not want to go back.

I would also recommend that you do some yoga, kung fu, or buddhist chanting before you start. You will want to be in a calm, neutral state of mind, so that the nearby cinder block in your backyard doesn't end up through a windshield.

Best of luck my friend - RAAAHHHHAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA (remember Skeletor?)
