Yeah he's right, it's just a pain because you have to unbolt the AC compressor from the bracket, then loosen the lower bolt that holds in the AC bracket. The reason you do this is because the alternator has to be rotated so that one of the long bolts can clear the firewall when coming out. Its not all that bad, its good to get an idea of whats down in that hole, also a good time to check the wires feeding into the alternator if its been shaking for a while (wires can get vibrated to breaking point). You may want to consider replacing the water pump at the same time since you will be taking off a lot of the same stuff to get in there.
