It may be an insult or "slap in the face" to the shop, but keep in mind that you are the customer and it is up to them to meet customer satifaction. If they want to refuse to use your parts and risk losing your business as well as the average 10 people that you are going to tell about your experience, then that is their decision.
Arguments to the effect that the parts may be sub-standard or that they are not able to make their profit margin should be met with the idea that the parts probably come with some form of warranty from the manufacturer and it is not something that the shop would be liable for and they are making their profit margin on the labour.
