I once went to an indie to get some work done on my SPG's A/C. While I was there, I asked them to balance the tires because I was getting some not-so-good vibrations.
When they turned the car back to me, the handling was totally different and the ride height was higher up front. I also think that they used a really bad jacking point because I started to get really wicked tire wear and worse vibrations in the back after they did their work.
I hate to have to do an alignment and get my whole car documented before I get some service work done. That's why I like to do all of my own work these days.
