unless of course u have things back to front.. your car has an auto box.. its idling very slowly.. something causes the engine rpm to rise.. this causes the alternator to pump out more current.. this causes your lights to get brigher.. this cause your auto car to surge forward if its in drive..
cant see how an iffy alternator is gonns make your car surge forward.. especially if its a manual box.. he he he..
anyway.. a dodgey voltage regulator could cause things to brighten up.. but not an increase in engine rpm.. in fact the opposite would occur.. the extra load on the alternator would slow your engine rpm down..
