I have one pushing two Rockford Fosgate 6x9's and two a/d/s 4"s. Hurts my ears without even taxing the internal amps (which are very clean-sounding MOSFET units, by the way).
If you really want to go hardcore, get a Creative Nomad Jukebox III. It's basically a Discman-sized mp3 player with a 20 Gb hard drive that holds about 5,000 songs. Add a two RCA to one 1/8" stereo adapter to the line-in on the back of your stereo and you can listen for many days without ever changing a CD. Plus, with this setup, you don't have to mess around with burning mp3 CDs at a paltry 650 Mb a pop, worrying whether your head unit will play a burned disc or skip or whatever. Disclaimer: I'm not affiliated with the manufacturer or anything like that, I just love the little beastie.
Good luck.
