1. No real need for ramps, ground clearance pretty good already. Look for 13mm hex bolt with a wide base to it, just to driver's side of centerline. The 'shield' you mention should have a hole cut in it for access, shouldn't req removal.
2. A *small wrench is useful; a large one is not - given the limited room! :P Most are self-adjustable for filter size (band type wrenches). Wipe a little clean oil with reasonably clean fingers on inside threads and outer rubber gasket of new filter before threading it on.
3. !Engine should be dead cold before removing plugs! Not kinda warm, but cold. Reason is diff expansion rates of steel plug and alum head => risk of ripping threads out, no good. The modestly priced NGK brand plugs are OEM, I dunno code, have it looked up at store. A small smear of antiseize is nice on the new plug threads. If you don't have a torque wrench, tighten them 1/4 turn past finger tight with your socket driver (13/16 or 5/8, depends). Unscrew the top panel over head to access plugs and wires.
4. Otherwise, it's plug-in-play. Maybe this time around (since it's a pain), consider having your mechanic replace the fuel filter & air filter at next visit, which on your car is tucked up next to the gas tank. Also confirm date of last O2 sensor change.
