I used a 1/2 inch breaker bar and it barely fit. You're probably also going to have to stick a cheater bar over the breaker bar to bust it loose. I used a 2 foot section of pipe I had around, slipped it over the breaker bar and it came loose. To lock the automatic, I pried back the plastic transmission cover by the starter and put a humungous screwdriver that I have into the teeth so that when I rotated the crank it went tight against one of the starter bolts. Going to need someone to help you if you do it this way.
