Trog,
It's the low frequency "thumping" feel it in your bones, shaking. I did have the "Clicking" on hard lock turns, so I knew I needed them done. I thought since I was doing one, do it all. The original vibrations started over a month ago when I first got the car. If I drove it for a long distance,(warmed up?) eventually this vibration started on the highway. Shook so bad that I had to get off the interstate and take back roads home. That's when I decided to replace everything but the inner drivers. Once the first job was finished, sans inner drivers, the vibration was still there - but not as severe. During the next 2 weeks before the I could get the new inner drivers installed, the vibration was almost gone. Only felt it on severe speeding. The shop installed the new driver's and I could barely drive it thru town. Took it back and they found some slop in the right side outer joint. Put a used shaft that I had bought for backup, still did the same thing. Exchange the new right axle for another, replaced and here I am. I am starting to thing maybe the new inner driver's are funky? We're starting to toss around issues with the tranny or clutch....argghhh!
