Fuel Pump Problems

Bill,
Sorry I didn't include the year, etc. This car is a '91 and so doesn't have a prepump. I have driven the car with a fuel pressure guage on it and it maintains good pressure tracking manifold vacuum. I have not tested volume output but have been told by several people that if the pump acheives pressure it is probably ok volume wise. I am getting codes out of the ECU telling me that it can't maintain air fuel ratio at idle (12112) or while driving (12111). Would you mind reading my earlier post "Surging at Freeway Speeds" from about 2/22 or 2/23. I am stumped by this one, really stumped. I am just now starting to think about ignition but the car really acts like it has a vacuum leak. As in when I let off the gas at 2800-3000 RPM it surges. Today (after having the battery off to clean grounds and thereby clearing the ECU) it seemed to run OK first thing and not surge much on the Freeway (20 minute ride one way). Tonight it really hesitated when I pulled out of the parking lot (30 seconds idling) and then ran OK on the freeway for about 15 minutes then the surge again when ever throttle was reduced. I have not previously looked at the ignition although all the tune-up parts are good. The harmonic balancer is noisy, perhaps it's messing with the hall sensor?? I appreciate your input.
