I dunno, 100K isn't much for engine bearings but corrosion seems to be more of a problem than wear, at least that was it on my 87 engine with 200k on it. I replaced the engine bearings and did the front and rear seals and put new rings on the engine as long as it was out. I did not
recondition the head and valves although now I think maybe I should have ponied up the $500 or so for a ported and polished head (maybe it costs more now but then...).

I'd look carefully at the shifter forks, synchros, etc., unless you elect to punt and get an ericksson (sp?) rebuilt trans. If you're going big time horsepressure now would be the time to consider a specialty-built rally 4 speed...I understand they're mucho stronger than the factory 5speed.

While things are out, you might consider cleaning/repainting the engine compartment...things get pretty crusty there and imron makes a pretty nice bulletproof compartment. Also check the lower suspension mounting pads for rust/corrosion and cut/replace/weld as necessary. Consider rebuilding the front suspension and replacing ALL the engine hydraulic mounts.

Anything rubber, from the belts to the hoses to the vacuum lines to the boots on the driveshafts/CV joints. If it's OEM, it goes. IF you've replaced it in the last year or two, let it go. Have to use your head on this because somethings can last for 10 years...stock Saab hoses are pretty good, my turbo-to-tube to intercooler hose lasted over 12 years and I arguably didn't need to replace it just because it blew/slipped off one winter after a 11 hour drive to Tremblant. But I didn't want to have to think about it again in -20F weather....YMMV.
