I just did this job on a 92 900 turbo/ it is a pita but possible. If you have access to a lift it will make it that much easier. I used no special tools other then mechanical fingers for the front top shocks as it is difficult to reach. I would not reccommmend attempting to snap the shock if you suspect any corrosion damage on your vehicle you may damage the car not the shock. I used the end of a hammer to compress it and pull it out whole. I also used a punch to pound the new one into the slot. Does not always slide in the way we would like. I can see no reason you would need a special socket? Unless your tool box leaves something to be desired. I reccommend you read the instuctions on the box. It will tell you to use (I think it was) vasoline or something of that nature on the bushings. This prevents the bushing from dry rotting. If you can get polyeurothane you will save your self having to replace bushing's in a couple years. Good luck!
