I'll do the compression test. I didn't tell you before but this 16valve was put in a 1976 EMS. I dont even think the APC exists on the car. I dont really know. The old 99 wiring harness was adapted to the 900 engine. Everything seems to work. I have a boost pressure gage in the car but all boost adjustments are made by changing the length of the diaphragm arm to the waste gate. When I had my old turbo on it I was getting to about 20psi boost. Detonation was happening at that pressure so I stopped going there. I have a new water/oil cooled turbo on it now and I have it dialed down to around 10psi maximum for now.The car wiring has been severly altered. THe O2 sensor isn't even connected. I doubt it worked in the first place. Enigine runs just fine without. Will the compression test really tell me if the rings are bad? My local shop was saying that I would have to do a drip test to be certain. I dont know whats involved in that test but their price for that is $120.
Thanks nt
