many possibilities and multiple unrelated things wrong.
First off, clean the grounds: at radiator crossmember and trans from battery, and short black ground wire from alternator frame to block. this ground wire is critical and often vibrates loose or breaks.
Charge the battery and get the car started. See what the voltage is across the battery now. If not close to 14 volts, suspect alternator regulator brushes.
Check vacuum hoses and grommets for leaks, a propane torch works well to find leaks as the idle speed will increase when propane is sucked in. Clean out the throttle body and butterfly and the AIC valve with carb spray.
For cold idle hunt, a bad AMM (air mass meter) is a common problem. The only practical way to verify this is to swap in a known good one. Once you get these things sorted out, you can get ready for a new steering rack, balljoints. Nothing too terrible, but a neglected 900 will keep you busy for awhile.
