A buddy of mine from college bought a 72 or 74 BMW Beveria (sp?). It needed engine work so he did the works inculding a 3/4 race grind cam and headers, evrey thing was either rebuilt or new. He put 100 miles on it and the engine began to make a knock, he resisted driving the car hard but still had this problem. The engine came out agian, #5 bearing, same bearing that caused the engine rebuild. He rebuilt the lower end once agian, had $500 in machine work done and installed 1st oversized bearings. After 60 miles the knock came back, trusty #5 once agian. No one can figure out why the #5 bearing is failing, and with over $5000 invested into the project he is in to deep to get out. Luckly he has found another block, cam, pistions, and head to try, he hopes to have better luck.
