Hey guys,
Here's another one of my crazy ideas. I'm not sure if this is actually a good idea or if it is just off the wall.
A few years ago I was talking to one of my buddies professional sound system installers, sharing ideas about how to make things look/work/sound better, etc. He had shared his idea that he had for his Probe (Alpine's car they had him do all the work on). He was going to take the whole headlight assembly apart, take off the back and make an entirely new backing/silver reflective peice for the bulb to sit in. Except, he was going to fabricate the backing plate to accomodate two projector fog/driving lights.
A picture of the style of fog/driving lights I am referring to is included below. If it does not come up, just go on eB*y and tpye in "projector light"
I was taking a look at the c900 headlight, and there can no be a more perfect headlight to do this upgrade to. The stock silver reflective peice on the back may actually be able to be used. Some wiring would need to be done, although it being very easy. You would see two circles through the glass when the lights are off. Low beam would be one light, high beams would be both. Lighting would be dramatically improved, plus I think the look of this newer looking, more European headlight look would do a lot for the front end of our cars.
Here's my main worries...
Is this legal?
Is this stupid? Why?
I have a shop who will pass almost anything I give them. I'm just worried about any heat I may be taking from the police, etc. I know it will be bright, but the lows will be aimed low, and the highs will only be used when driving on a backroad, alone.
I'd love to hear your comments/thoughts/ideas. I may get started on this project fairly soon.
Thanks!
Taylor
