Scott, I have done exactly the same thing with my 94 TC, it now also boosts slightly into the red. I posed the same question and the general consensus was that it's probably not going to be a problem, but to go easy on the tranny since you're creating more torque at higher boost. The only negative I've noticed after about 5K of this is that I'm stressing the cooling system a little more - at sustained highway cruising the coolant runs a little hotter, and the temperature rises faster if I'm climbing hills. And as Nathan mentions watch out for leaning out the air/fuel. I am going to slap on a 3 bar FPR one of these days, been lazy lately...
Cheers,
Chuck
