Hello all,
I have been trying to tell if my 87 SPG is getting the proper amount of boost and have asked you all for help here over the past week or so (started with boost only 1/2 into yellow.)
Thanks to all that have helped me so far. I think I have narrowed down the problem, if there is one, so please help me make it to the finish.
To begin with The only change I noted was messing with the waste gate rod to gain boost.
So far
1. I have replaced most of the vac. lines.
2. I checked aps soil. operation, (not much diff. plugged in or not) 3.checked vac lines on apc soil (seems to be functioning correct)
4.Un plugged vac. line to pressure transducer (this was one of the only things that seemed to make a difference, when vac line unplugged boost went to halfway into red on "boost" guage..before only 3/4 yellow)
5. Made "fairly" sure all vac leaks are fixed.
6. switched APC box with known good unit (no change)
Question.....Since unplugging vac line to transduced increased boost, can I *assume* APC system is OK, and end my misery :-)
With transducer plugged in boost goes just slightly into red, after about 20 miles of testing under different conditions.
Thanks to all for any help (again)
Cheers,
Scott
