Sorry for the long post I am just venting because I checked one of the last things today which I thought for sure would fix the car.

Back in Feb of '03 I replaced my vac advance unit with a modified one. I started it up to change the timing and the car ran like crap, black smoke pouring out the tail pipe and check engine light was on. The car sounded like it was a drag car from the 70's.

Sense then I have replaced vac advance unit, plugs, wires, cap, rotor, o2 sensor, NTC sensor, amm, rebuilt turbo, gutted the cat, cleaned K&N air filter, reset TPS, new AIC valve, new FPR, new injectors, new injector seals plus fuel rail seals, replaced the fuel pump check valve. I have also checked and checked for vac leaks, I cannot find one.

After all that the check engine light only comes on while idling. I pulled the codes and it said too lean. The car runs and boosts fine, but lugs at idle and is still running too rich. It still blows black smoke.

Today I checked to see if my cams had slipped a tooth, they are perfectly aligned when the car is at TDC. I also checked compression which was 150-155 on all four cylinders.

I have not been able to check my fuel pressure. I did try a new ECU and that did help, but only for a day or two.

Again sorry for the long post, but is there anything to check?

Thanks!!!!!
