The shift boot has an elastic around the perimiter of the base. Just pull it sideways and it will unhook from a lip on the console.
The center lower piece under the heater controls will come out plastic and carpet part together.
Pull out the rubber boot just ahead of the shift lever.
Get the shift boot off, and get the console out. You have to unplug the window switch wires, one end (I think the front) has a clip and then it bends off hinging from the back. the dome light just unplugs.
There is a 10 mm bolt up behind the ashtray that needs to come out, the CD or equalizer needs to come out. (use saab tool or single strand house wire to poke in holes on both sides. Once wire is in all holes, you can pull it out. Bend the case behind the CD player down and up in the center of the front edge to release the catches, and pull it out. Unplug wires. Remove screws at base where rubber boot was.
Once clear, pry gently down on the top of the plastic thing that held the CD or equalizer to get it past the dash lip. then all will slide out and up.
The light plugs in the rear quarters are kinda far back on the wires, follow the wires into the metal part and you'll find them.
