points in the C900 transmission. That's why they put the dogleg in the shift pattern for 2nd.
If you don't have hard shifts into other gears or grinding when you go into reverse (even after momentarily putting the ehifter an another gear before shifting to reverse) then the 2nd gear synchro might be damaged. Slow shifts into 2nd are the order of the day.
If you do have hard shifts or grinding into reverse, then there is probably either incomplete disengagement because of residual air in the system or because the clutch plate isn't moving on the primary shaft splines enough. It could also be that the pilot bearing is getting rough.
It might just be concidence that this symptom in 2nd appeared right now.
