Found the CIS problem!!! Yay!

Some of you may remember my posts over the last several months regarding a problem I had with my CIS on my '83 900T. Basically it was running very rich at very odd times for various amounts of time. On some occasions it would barely run. I checked everything from top to bottom with regards to the fuel injection, ignition and the exhaust emissions system. The only test I couldn't perform was the fuel pressure test to determine if the warm-up regulator was faulty. So I finally replaced the warm-up regulator with a good used one. After this the car wouldn't start at all. Hmmm, I then remembered that the %CO had to be re-adjusted to componsate for the new part. This should be done whenever replacing any part of the CIS. I turned the screw in the fuel distributor about one full turn and tried to start the car. It started, but ran very rough. I then hooked up my dwell meter and it read 2.8! It should read between 40-50 @ 875 RPM. As I adjusted it clockwise it started to run much better. I then fine tuned the throttle and the idle screw and the car runs great. I need to thank everyone that helped me. This board is a tremendous asset to all Saab owners. Thanks Again!
Sean H.
