Clutch Pedal work done, HOWEVER...

I won't get into the 'finessing' needed to get the oilite bearings into the hole drilled in the clutch pedal, but let's say that i'm happy i'm learning to improvise and think i'm getting better at working on my car:)
HOWEVER, the shifting is approximately 50% better. Now that i have a better understanding about how everything connects to the clutch pedal, i think the remainder of my problem has to do with the U-joint (fork) of the slave cylinder. I believe the same elongated hole that was prevalent in the clutch pedal exits in the U-joint and is therefore not causing the clutch to engage/disengage as fully as it should.
So, is this U-joint replacable on its own or does the entire slave have to be replaced? Is there any 'rigged' fix for this part of the U-joint similar to clutch pedal's fix?
I assume i could get an agle drill and drill thru the U-joint and the pedal and replace the current 'peg' with a larger one, but as i don't own an agle drill, i'd be paying to have the work done and at that point it may just be worthwhile to get a new slave and install that myself.
Any thoughts/suggestions are welcomed.
Thanks to everyone that has helped with my problem so far (not to forget anyone, but special thanks to Alex and JohnK who have really been there each step along the way!!)
