I guess I'll keep it

It's been a long road to get to this point with my 85 turbo. Frankly I have been unimpressed with the performance. Sure it was OK for a four cylinder but it was a lot less than I expected. I was thinking about getting rid of it and waiting for an SPG to come along.
Then I realized I had used the wrong timing mark and have been driving around for the last month at 0 degrees BTDC. Suddenly the hesitation is gone, I don't have to feather the clutch anymore, I feel confident that when I step on the gas it will accelerate smartly instead of crawl up to the powerband. No more jerky acceleration from a stop light. No wonder my gas milage was so bad. It was all going out the exhaust along with the power.
Now it runs great up to about 4K then power falls off as it always has. Feels like it's not getting enough fuel. That I can live with as I seldom rev it that high. I don't like to beat my cars but I do like to exercise them once in a while. I'll do some more research and start saving for bigger injectors or new fuel pumps or both.
ya these cars have a ton of personality. At least now mine has a good one.
