'85 900T 16v 5spd, 4dr
yo guys. there was a recent post concerning the way you can pretty much use any C900 key to open any saab. i tried my brother's '85 900S key in my '85 900T16 and it's indeed true with my car.
i was wondering what the best way to go about this would be. i'm putting $500 worth of stereo equipment in my car over the next week & i'd like it to be a little harder for someone to jack my stuff. should i just go to a locksmith and have him reset the cylinders to a completely different key? would that work? or could i swap the cylinders from, say, a junked '94+ saab into my '85 900T?
also, about getting into the trunk from the inside.. the $500 addition to my stereo will all be in the trunk (subwoofers, amplifier, i'll post some photos once i get it together or even while i'm doing the install if anyone's interested). i'm more worried about what'll be in the trunk than my $100 HU. so, is there any way to disable the latches to pull up the rear seat from the inside? rather than just breaking it, is there any way to disable them and still be able to enable them again in the future?
if i can get new locking cylinders for my C900 or have the older ones reset well enough to suffice, AND i can somehow disable the seat latches from the inside.. that's when i'll disable the central locking so that the trunk won't unlock with the driver side lock is pulled.
so, advice, suggestions or answers? thanks!
