The A student will do the resistor swap, but first adjust the F and P pots to see how you like it. Leave the k pot alone so you retain knock sensor protection.

After you have base boost up to normal, I would turn the F pot clockwise about 90 degrees(1/4 turn). Then by trial and error bump the P pot clockwise, say 10 degrees at a time. The f pot controls max boost and the p pot controls boost rise and sort of a default boost setting. Anyway, if you turn up the P pot too much, you will get boost overrun loose your max boost setting with the f pot. So you turn up the P pot just enough to get a rapid and smooth boost build to the F setting and not much beyond. If you get too much knock sensor intrusion at max boost, you can cut f and p back a bit, or retard base timing to 14 btdc. Or you can modify the retard stop on the distributor to give a bit more boost retard, while leaving base timing more advanced.

If you have an 89 on 900t, the max boost fuel pump cut off is controlled by the AMM. The best way to get around this is by adding larger 30lb injectors, a 3 bar FPR or rrfpr and inserting a 25-100 ohm resistor in the orange wire from the AMM. This fools the ECU at WOT by modifying the AMM signal.

I would approach this one step at a time, until you are happy. Note that the trans can't take constant full boost driving even with a non-tweaked APC system, so don't go crazy with a tweaked system.
