Did you say you had the alt. mounting bushings replaced? There are two bushing for the alt. and one for the pivioting arm. I would check the bottom bolt on the alt. The bushing has a metal sleeve and don't offer that much play when that new. BUT, if the adjuster is cranked down to try and tighten the belt, you may be crushing the bushing. I just replaced mine and have had one belt slightly looser due to bad bushings. I would take a good look at the belts. The alt. belts are nearest the engine, followed by ps pump and finallly AC belt. Are they all loose? When you say you can hand turn the alt, you may be turning the harmonic balancer. Two people, one up, one down would help to conferm that. Also, marking the balancer with three stripes starting inner to outer will give you an Idea if it is slipping.
I wouldn't be suprised if the two belt thing is a safety issue, but cannot conferm that. Hope this helps.
Good Luck,
Kevin O
