From your description in the last post I would say that instead of pulling the hub out of the bearing (and prob destroying the bearing), he has pushed the driveshift spindle out of the hub. This would imply that the balljoints and inner driver are under considerable stress, but probably not terminally damaged.
If the caliper is already off:
1.put a jack under the lower balljoint and lift until the body starts to lift.
2. put something about 1/2 inch thick between the upper control arm (wishbone)and the body section under it, then lower the jack.
3. remove the 2 bolts that hold the upper ball joint to the control arm.
4.pull the entire hub/spindle assembly outward from the top. This should take any stress off the driveshaft/inner driver.
5. carefully line up the splined portion of the driveshaft with the hub. A good light and you will see how to move things around so that the shaft will slide into the hub.
5. start the big axle nut as far as it will go by hand.
6. push the upper ball joint into the upper control arm, and replace/tighten the bolts.
7. remove the spacers from under the upper control arm.
8. Put the caliper back on and pump the brakes to seat the pads.
9. Put the tire back on and put it back on the ground.
10. get a socket that fits the big axle nut, and a piece of pipe to get you out to 18 - 20 inches of leverage.
11. have someone stand on the brakes to keep the wheels from turning, while you STAND on the socket with extention to get the torque about right.
12. Jack the wheel off the ground again, grab the wheel at 3 & 9 o'clock, and shake it like crazy. if you have a lot of play side to side, and up/down you will need to get it to the shop, or as Gorper described; remove the hub-spindle assembly and take that to the shop.
