The specs I gave are not too far off what Saab set up some of their European cars with (up to -.7 camber, up to +2.7 caster). I have driven a couple c900s for thousands of miles with camber/caster/toe settings far from stock spec with zero problems, with even tire wear, etc.
I am currently running 2 degrees negative camber just fine but have run -1 and -1.5, too.
Further, in order to compromise grip while braking, you would have to dial in *lots* more negative camber than what I suggest, so much that the car would be a pain in the butt to drive in a straight line due to camber thrust. In theory, going to some negative camber would increase braking grip, as the tire patch area would increase under braking when the nose dives and the a-arms rise.
Anyway, to increase negative camber while maintaining the same caster, you add the same thickness of shims to both a-arm brackets. Roughly, 4-5mm of shims will yield a 1-degree change in camber. To increase caster only, you add shims to the rear bracket only. Note that dialing in negative camber also increases toe-in. Really, this should be done by a Saab-knowldedgeable alignment shop. You can save a little money if you harvest some shims from a junkyard car.
If you enjoy driving your c900 in a spirited manner, and find the car's handling a large grin-inducer, then more negative camber will do nothing but make those grins wider.
IMO, YMMV
