Eiron,
Hi there. You just bleed the clutch system at the slave. Gravity isn't enough for bleeding; you either need to have a helper push the pedal (either brake or clutch, depending on which system you're bleeding) OR you can use a pressure bleeder which pressurizes the brake fluid reservoir (brake reservoir is the clutch fluid reservoir, too).
I just got through bleeding the clutch on my '87 SPG this weekend. I have tried doing this with just a one-man brake bleeder (basically a clear hose with a one-way valve attached to the end you put into a cup/can--this lets fluid go out when pushing the clutch pedal down, but keeps air from being drawn back in when the clutch pedal is let up). This eliminates the helper person. However, I've also done clutch bleeding with a one-man bleeder in conjuction with a Motive Products pressure bleeder; I got mine at eEuroparts.com and it's very handy.
If you have a helper, you can bleed the clutch without any special tools. You just a use 13mm wrench on the bleeder screw and a hose to divert fluid into an old cup or can (I used a big plastic Taco Bell drinking cup, though I'm not going to drink out of that ever again!). I'd use a clear hose since you can see the bubbles that way.
TO BLEED: You put your helper in the driver's seat, tell them to push the clutch pedal down and HOLD IT, you open the bleeder screw and close it right back after fluid spurts out, then they can let up on the pedal after you've closed the bleeder. Repeat until the fluid which comes out has no bubbles.
*****Pump the clutch pedal several times to build up pressure (took mine 20-30 pumps before pedal felt normal).
NOTE: For bleeding the brake system, you bleed in a certain order, and bleed from each of the four wheels. Post back here with which year your SAAB is, and I'll tell you the correct bleeding order.
